Sacred Stories.
Subversive Stories.
Liberated Lives.
Hola, I’m Dr. Ang. I create pathways to justice, beauty, and liberation through speaking, writing, art, and gathering people together.
My QUEER framework guides this work and invites us to question what we’ve inherited and reimagine a better world.
ABOUT DR. ANG
Many expressions.
A shared purpose.
Hola, I’m Dr. Ang. I’m a queer author, artist, speaker, and ordained clergywoman with a PhD in Art and Religion.
I tell revolutionary stories and create space for people whose voices have too often been excluded with my speaking, writing, art, and events.
My work brings together scholarship, creativity, spirituality, and storytelling in the service of justice and liberation.
With two decades as a professor, I'm an award-winning author of eleven books, the world's leading folk-feminist iconographer, and my work has been featured in Forbes, HuffPost, NPR, The Advocate, Ms. Magazine, and more.
I'm also the Founder and CEO of Tehom Center Publishing, a nonprofit press publishing feminist and queer authors with a commitment to elevate BIPOC writers. More than credentials or accolades, I am enlivened by the stories of those too often pushed to the margins.
I'm also a queer disability mama and unapologetic enneagram one, INTJ, Leo sun and Cancer rising who lives and frolics in the PNW with my wife, two children, and one very snuggly dog.
When I'm not working, and often also when I am, you can find me gallivanting around the world in search of stunning views and delicious vegetarian food.
A ROADMAP TOWARD LIBERATION
Let’s Q.U.E.E.R.
what’s possible.
Liberation asks something of our imagination. My QUEER framework invites us to examine what we’ve inherited, learn from those pushed to the margins, and reimagine how we live and lead.
Rooted in queer lived experience. An invitation to individuals, communities, and organizations ready to ask different questions.
Whose stories have shaped what we believe is possible?
What assumptions and practices are we ready to unlearn?
What knowledge and experiences can deepen our understanding?
What supports our agency and our responsibility to one another?
What more just and beautiful possibilities can we create?
